Community Based Income-generating initiative to promote recycling and sustainable livelihoods.
Cash4Trash initiative is an income-generating recycling initiative that promote recycling and encourages the change of consumption habits in individuals and communities. This is a community development initiative that allows communities to exchange waste collected from their communities and households for cash or foodstuffs. For the community members that have no bank accounts, this initiative supports them in opening ‘Green’ bank Accounts where their cash will be deposited. We currently have ongoing initiatives in Kuruduma village, Karimajiji village and Aleyita Village all in the FCT.
